Just submitted Marble Gearbox to the
@playastrocade Toy Jam… only 4 minutes before the deadline 😭
This was honestly one of the hardest projects I’ve ever done. What I thought would be “just export a Blender asset into Three.js” turned into around 30 hours of work in 4 days.
The Blender asset had to be exported as a GLB and brought into
@threejs , but the physics had to be rebuilt from scratch using Rapier collisions. The original rigid body setup didn’t transfer, so every track, collider, ramp, and marble behavior had to be reworked for the web.
I had both Claude Code and Codex connected to
@Blender MCP, but even then, so much still had to be done manually. I also didn’t realize the asset I purchased wasn’t 100% assembled, so I ended up manually assembling around 30% of it in Blender myself.
AI couldn’t fully solve that part, even with MCP.
It was frustrating, exhausting, and way harder than I expected…
But now, seeing the final result, I’m honestly so satisfied.
You can just watch the marbles roll, follow the ball, or drop more balls into the machine. No score. No winning. No purpose.
Just a virtual marble track toy.
Exactly what the Toy Jam was about.
Hope this little toy has a chance to win! ⚙️
