One feature I'm really excited about for the next version of Three.js Water Pro is the introduction of Jerlov water types, which are well-researched classifications of water transmittance. This takes the guess work out of trying to get the right water color.
There are five classifications for ocean water (I, IA, IB, II, III) and five more for coastal water (1C, 3C, 5C, 7C, 9C). Not the most straightforward numbering system, but I didn't invent it!
I've mapped each of these classifications to a set of 3 sliders: Algae, Silt, Stain. You can either pick a standard Jerlov preset, or adjust the sliders to create your own custom water color.
