A week travelling NZ without 4G has shown me just how bad most apps are without an internet connection. It shouldn't be rocket surgery to enable the maximum possible interaction offline and queue up tasks to be performed next time you're online, but nobody has emphasised this.

Finding information is easier than ever. Filtering information is harder than ever. We are bombarded with irrelevant data and unsolicited stimulation. Choosing what to ignore is as important as choosing what to pay attention to.

Rule #1 of development: Accept the fact that you will spend copious amounts of time debugging something only to realize you forgot to import the component before using it, or were refreshing the live site and not localhost.

While in San Fran, I managed to attend an alumni event for my old university thanks to @andrew_roberts. I got to meet a lot of lovely people and even ran into an old friend! Just another thing that made this trip to the US worth it.

Great talk by @JordanHawker on measuring latency in single page apps. I believe it isn't being recorded so I'm glad I went to it!

After my talk at @ForwardJS I figured it was about time I make a personal Twitter account. So, hi! 👋
