#tip A more beautiful way to disable highlighting in blocks of computer output is to simply use <pre><samp> markup instead of <pre><code>.
Apparently, highlight.js is also installable on Debian, both for node.js and browser: tracker.debian.org/pkg/highl…

A note to front-end devs: Less and Stylus highlighting comes to the next version of highlight.js. We already had SASS and CSS (obviously).
Version 8.2 is out! 6 new languages (incl. Groovy, Dart and Scheme) and a few important updates. highlightjs.org/

@leahayes an animation would be even worse :-). We don't want to draw attention to the highlighter, we simply want code look better.
@bsvalidator if I got your meaning, just wrap those lines in <span>s, style them however you like and highlight.js will leave it as is.
