Two days, one track, all Javascript. Returning Spring 2020.

NYC
A lot of people have been asking, so we thought we’d let you all know that there will be no Empire 2019. Due to a busy fall for our organizers and other JS conferences, we’ve decided to push EmpireJS back and return in Spring 2020. We look forward to seeing everyone then! ✨💛🍎

We build these confs because we care to work for the change we want to see in our tech communities, local and at large. Our sponsors make that happen. Our speakers bring one of a kind content. Our attendees bring an open mind and smiles to build stronger connections.

We intentionally keep @EmpireJS small in attendance for repeated, meaningful interactions. Doesn't make things easier on us. It's worth reconciling the money we need to gather in order to invest in our ecosystem. To offer opportunity scholarships for awesome 1st time attendees.

@nitya shows how to improve web performance using audits with Google Lighthouse. Use a Chrome extension, Node CLi, the Audits panel in DevTools, the WebPageTest website, or if you apply, an API. Results can be shared with Lighthouse Viewer. empirejs18.nityan.me/ #EmpireJS

@thathijabae says, "Engineering with empathy is really important." Born in Bangladesh, she was drawn to tech due to its capacity for impact. She used @d3js_org data viz to graph Bengali migration, and give structure to her father's memories of war. #EmpireJS

Closing out the conference, we have @piratefsh drawing us a picture of how they remade amazing generative retro computer art made on 3 million dollar IBM computers, printers, and cathode ray oscilloscopes using JavaScript 🖥🎨 #empireJS
