I run a meetup here in Detroit, you may have heard of it, @detroit_js. During #CommitYourCode this week, @DThompsonDev said something that resonated pretty heavy after I thought about it.
I don't HAVE to have an elaborate meetup, like the one's I am used too. I don't have to prove anything. Go back to the basics, go back to what I know.
I can run monthly coffee & codes and I BET people would show up. I don't need to run a full blown event with speakers and food. I need to go back to my roots. Back to the Detroit scene I came up in where meeting for a code and coffee was 110% okay.
Expect some changes in 2025 with DetroitJS and I hope to see you at some code & coffees!
