The Web as a platform lives up to the old Java hype of "write once, rum everywhere". The sandbox model is in many ways more secure than running executables. Web apps install instantly without requiring an installer or admin rights.
Web browsers are not operating systems or application development environments. They’re document viewers. The effort to make them into something more than that has been one of the biggest wrong turns in the history of computing.

YAGNI is probably the most underappreciated concepts in software. Especially frontend.
Never build software for requirements you might have. That path leads to spinning tires and unnecessary complexity.
