This year I got a tattoo, ran a half marathon and learned a new programming language. My tattoo says "Yolo". No it doesn't.
When you make a website using just HTML and CSS, you won't need any hydration. No JS mistake can break the page. No performance problems during page load or runtime.

@rikarends'm gonna try out Makepad for tomorrow's Advent of Code challenge. It's pretty cool to get the log immediately on change. WhI'm gonna try out Makepad for tomorrow's Advent of Code challenge. It's pretty cool to get the log immediately on change.

What doesn't work well on my MacBook Pro i9 (with Radeon Pro Vega 20) is the TreeWorld - the CPU runs at 100% and even other programs become unresponsive. But when I turn down the recursion it runs smooth again.

Please note the above is not a complaint, I do realise you are busy with more important things than my use case. I just thought it could be fun to hear from a user.

Rick's endeavor with Makepad is what made me try this year's Advent of Code in Rust (as opposed to Typescript).
Our stack is now completely Rust from frontend to backend. On server it feels so optimal and stable, on the client i can sustain far more complex applications than ever before in a tiny footprint with wasm (still 360k code otw) feels like the future compared to JS or other stacks

If you're also learning Rust, here are some interesting notes by another fellow who's learning it.
I am learning #Rust 🦀 while doing #AdventOfCode - this will be my diary about discoveries, frustrations and other general thoughts on the process. 📗🧵👇

In the final leg of Cruis'n USA's last stop, Washington D.C., you drive through a tunnel that is plastered with money on the walls. It is all a blur when driving, but If you stop you will see that it is actually Hillary Clinton on the currency.

Att jag kom igång med löpningen och sprang en halvmara. Eller när vi käkade på Noma? Eller att frun och äldste sonen lärt sig att spela Visa från Utanmyra.
Vilket är ditt bästa minne från 2020?
