I started running this year when the pandemic forced me to work from home in March. It's helped both on my physical and mental health. This morning I ran my first half marathon! Happy to have formed this healthy habit.

I love working with JavaScript, and I’m grateful for the people who make the tools without which I couldn’t work. Still, I find myself puzzled every time I have to spend hours on plumbing instead of code, and reminds me of the fragility of the ecosystem. ⬇️

Just in case anyone missed it: Rust + Wasm is a massive deal. It allows me to write full performance code that runs blitzin on desktop (without wasm), natively AND compile to a browser. Same codebase, same application. Its bigger than Java could ever dream to be.

It's hard to believe, a hot running fan blasting i9 loses by a factor 2 in a real world Rust compile from a passively cooled M1 macbook air. This has consequences.

I'm experimenting with an SQIP technique for our upcoming website. Inline SVG:s with blurred vector thumbnail, where the SVG is also using <image> for the JPEG:s. Compresses quite well since it's lots of repetition. No CSS or JS needed.
