If you’ve been wanting to migrate from @authjs to Better Auth with a database-less setup, 1.4 finally makes it possible!

In v1.4, oauth providers that we don’t currently support through socialProviders (but supported by @authjs) will now be available as pre-configured options in the generic OAuth plugin. We’ll start with a few and eventually support all of them

A database-less approach like next-auth only for JWT session handling would be much appreciated

Auth.js is the second most popular auth option in the State of React survey. Usage is only one thing though. We want people to use our libraries with joy. Most of comments are around bad docs or "hard to integrate" (technically also docs). We agree and are working on it.

Did you know you can migrate to @authjs NextAuth.js v5 from v4 without losing active user sessions? Technically you could even migrate to a different framework integration. Did a small example: github.com/balazsorban44/v4-…

After much confusion and many requests to make our Next.js integration of Auth.js (NextAuth.js) edge-compatible (it always has been), our Edge Compatibility article authjs.dev/guides/edge-compa… will finally become obsolete. No more split config! Great work by the Next.js team! 🎉
One of the top community requests for Next.js will soon be solved. Full Node.js support for middleware 🙏

Found a potential vulnerability in your favorite open-source project? Tip: When in doubt, always look for a security document on how to disclose it responsibly or search for a maintainer's email address, instead of posting it publicly. Ours is at authjs.dev/security

There are many reasons a maintainer didn't reply right away - timezone difference, maintainer offline, missed the mention on GitHub/elsewhere, etc. Disclosing responsibly avoids spreading fear or exposing actual issues too soon, so the maintainers can follow up professionally.
