Launching DEICER.org In the last couple of months, the administration has gone from wanting to deport the most dangerous immigrant criminals to deporting US Citizens including children. As the son of a Mexican mom and a Puerto Rican dad, this has always been a personal thing for me. I’ve spent tons of times working and checking on folks in these communities -but even I was stunned back into paralysis after all of this. It seems indiscriminate - and terrible. Then I saw JB Pritzker’s speech . He’s right. Id rather stand for something than sit and do nothing. So I retooled deicer.org . Ive now added Observer pins and a GPS alert system. You can go on the site, and mark a pin. Show that you’re an observer.. show that youre on the lookout for these folks. And when someone marks an ICE location - make sure you mobilize peachfully and remind everyone that this is our constitutional right to make sure that everyone is protected - and that there is transparency in the process. HSI agents are going to hide behind masks and stealth attacks on citizens - we should stand up and be aware of that.
