fun sunday project: i have a working monorepo that contains an @expo RN app and chrome extension (with HMR), sharing @trpcio routers and @tamagui_js UI components used in both the extension and RN app.
If i was building a new native <> ext wallet, this is how i'd do it :~)
Discord message from a user building an app on Tamagui:
"once you use tamagui's nested themes it's almost impossible to go back.. combines the best of flexibility (use any raw colors) with semantic naming ($background) + the desire to contextually give a certain area a color"
ICYMI: Tamagui keeps on chugging!
Refreshed the site and docs:
tamagui.dev
Some highlights:
- ✨ styled(*) accepts any component
- ✨ScrollView
- 💅 $color1 ... $color10 in theme-base
- 👨💻 Internals: useButton, useMediaPropsActive...
- >100 bug fixes in last month
Tamagui really unlocks (imo) ~40% more code share by itself, simply due to the compiler making web code so, so much faster.
Been working on an article to better explain that (I like/borrowed the term React Native Everywhere):

The full stack, from design system composability (@nativebase@tamagui_js) to what’s always been elusive with navigation (react-native-url-router @aleqsio & unreleased @expo router by @Baconbrix), I can’t think of a gap that doesn’t have a worthy solution prior to this year
Tamagui making quiet progress...
- Vite support w/ full CSS and optimization
- react-native-web-lite 🙈
- React Server Components sort of working
- Vite reanimated plugin
- Lighthouse scores up ~25% just by upgrading
- One more thing...

We've been quiet but a ton has been going on... will have a proper update soon. Close to 1.0!
New builds coming out almost every day, join the discord. A couple big companies building apps with it :)
