inlined critical css beats static css files in every benchmark (ttfi, ttfi, whatever) simply by avoiding the extra request, and usually being 1~2kb max. css in js is one way to get there, but if that’s too gross for you, I’d recommend figuring out similar for your own setup/site.

You copy the js part when you want expression and fewer bugs and high iteration speeds across a team. “DX”, if you will.
