Design system tip: if you have opaque backgrounds/borders on UI components, use mix-blend-mode: multiply, so they work on different coloured backgrounds.

Stitches automatically converts your tokens as CSS variables, and now you can use color pickers in the chrome dev tools
Use custom CSS Properties? @ChromeDevTools now supports color pickers for CSS properties in the Styles pane.
ALT The Styles pane now shows color pickers for custom CSS properties. In addition, you can hold the Shift key and click on color picker to cycle through the RGBA, HSLA, and Hex representations of the color value.
