We're considering supporting query parameters to import specifiers in Parcel 2! This would allow importing different representations of a file (e.g. url, base64, etc.), and passing options to transformers (e.g. image size).

π TypeScript is compiled with Babel by default, but there is a plugin for TSC if needed.
π Type checking and linting are supported via validator plugins that run in the background!

Parcel 2 is fast! β‘οΈ
We store the entire graph on disk when Parcel stops, and can restore it quickly when it starts back up.
Our new watcher enables us to invalidate only what changed incredibly fast.
It's like watch mode, but even when Parcel isn't running! π²

Parcel 2 supports multi-target builds. Just set them up in your package.json, and Parcel will build multiple versions of your app in parallel. For example, a modern browser version and a legacy browser version.

Our new watcher also has a super fast way to detect file changes that occurred even while Parcel is not running.
These things together mean we can store the entire graph in the cache, and invalidate only files and bundles that have changed since the last time you ran Parcel.

@padmaia built an asset graph that can be invalidated on a super granular level when files change, including not only code but also config files and more.

~400ms from process start to build complete! π₯
Cached builds now have the almost exactly the same performance as watch mode. π
