Thank you to everyone who came out to write your first lines of code with me + @codeartorg last night!! 💖
It’s easy to forget just how intimidating coding can be, but I think it’s safe to say we had a great time with yummy wine and belly laughs. Ready for the next one!
The first @p5xjs assignment I give in my digital media foundations class is a sound reactive portrait of a classmate.
These characters are entirely drawn with code:
Kristin Galvin is a senior software engineer at Nvidia currently working with TypeScript and React on serverless architectures. She enjoys making generative synthesizers in the browser and playing music as Kevin Blechdom (and Blectum from Blechdom).
aarón is a Chilean educator and media artist. They are a graduate from NYU ITP and MIT Media Lab, where their areas of research focused on open source toolkits for the arts, creative machine learning and digital rights. They have been a contributor to the p5.js project since 2015
aarón will develop the p5.sound library with an updated roadmap, foster community contribution, and plan its potential integration into the p5.js core library, building creative coding communities in Latin America and creating experimental and non-Western sound examples.
We are thrilled to announce the 2023 #p5.sound fellow aarón montoya-moraga and mentor Kristin Galvin! 🎉We are also grateful for the support from advisors Jason Sigal @therewasaguy, Luisa Pereira @luisa_ph and Yotam Mann @yotammann. Stay tuned for all their amazing work!
✨ It’s official ✨
@codeartorg x @artxcode_io will be hosting a Wine & Code night @4GeeksAcademy on Thursday, Feb 16 — led by yours truly!
This introductory @p5xjs workshop is geared towards women with little to no coding experience. 😇

Had a great time leading a workshop at #ccfestNYC today on simulating facial animatronics with @p5xjs and TouchGui library by @L05_ Glad to see @BerriosVRE documented the experience!
Awesome Saturday of creative coding at #CCFest23 with 3 of my students. Shout out to @mrbombmusic for that awesome session. We had so many laughs controlling faces and making awesome bugs with the TouchGUI library for #p5js#wpProud

This weekend, we held an advanced generative art workshop, teaching 30 students to use @p5xjs@openprocessing to create together. Everyone's work was stunningly beautiful and impressive, the printed results were amazing!
