Btw it really does work and you can actually make an app in very very little time

I just made myself a calorie tracking app for personal use using one js.Tweaking the fullstack option to get it working for sqlite was pretty smooth. Can't wait to be able to use cloudflare and d1 with it.

Aaron's thoughts on the local-first/sync space. Attempt at live tweeting a thread ...

People ask me a lot about this. I tried to do a video and I'm too perfectionisty to publish it. So I'm going to try this format. Here is how I think about the local-first/sync space. First, it is a definitely a big, beautiful, hot mess. There's so much energy and excitement in the space and nothing has congealed yet. All kinds of incredibly smart people doing fascinating work. But anyway... here goes nothing...

this was the "non mainstream" demo i was talking about a while back when you have you seen something in YEARS of vc fueled noisy churny web dev progress come anywhere close to something like this

New React framework: One Strongly typed file-based routes (like Tanstack router) Loaders (like Remix/React Router) SPA, RSC, SSG support, with per page opt in Local first (Using Zero, coming soon) Colocated parallel queries (like Relay) And most surprising: Build for native and web in same project with fast simultaneous HMR for both. Looks compelling

Local First in 2025 will be like React in 2016. If you want your app to stand out, it's what you're learning and implementing.

A new React / RN framework, @one__js was released yesterday at @viteconf 🟡 I couldn't resist to try @nuqs47ng on it, with an adapter written in 10 minutes and 9 lines of code 🤯 Congrats on the launch @natebirdman, @jshez & @zetavg !

babe wakeup new react framework just dropped Before you comment jUsT wHaT wE nEeD aNoThEr ReAcT fRaMeWoRk you should know: 1. Nate is the guy behind Tamagui - a tw/panda type styling system for Web + Native. This is for React + Native too. 1. This is a Vite plugin 1. has a similar vibe to Remix (loaders) and Next.js Pages Router (generateStaticParams) 1. Integrated with Zero - this is an (upcoming) sync engine from the Replicache folks for local-first apps. You can kind of think of it as a state manager + query lib + realtime Glad to see people continuing to explore new approaches

There is `one` thing that will launch today and it’s blowing my mind already. 🤯 Strong Rails vibes. Might bring local-first to the masses. Keep an eye out on @natebirdman today at Viteconf.

A couple years ago @elsigh was like "hey you should meet up with @natebirdman - he lives in your town". This was hard to believe since I live in small town in Hawaii that has like ten other programmers in it, and I thought I knew all of them. But Lindsey was right – hiding right down the road the guy behind @tamagui_js. Since I met him, Nate has not. shut. up. about his ideas for local-first and how deficient Replicache is and how it all really *should* work. His constant pestering is a huge part of the reason we started zerosync.dev and his ideas have directly influenced its design. Little did I know all that time he had an ulterior motive. Talk about your 4D chess. Joking aside, a lightweight modern approach to React Native and React Web in the same codebase is hugely overdue. I am so excited about One on just this basis alone. But more broadly, I think the world needs frameworks that are focused on local-first and modern client-side interactive apps. Very excited to get this combo into people's hands.
