This is pretty disquieting. In nightwatch, we have identified a few similar issues in the source code and we've renamed all instances to "child nodes". nitter.catsarch.com/darylginn/status/10167…
Great to hear that nightwatch is being used at @NPR - quite an awesome organisation.

The Code of Conduct should be universal and automatically adopted by any conference. The basis for this has existed for some time. It's called Categorical Imperative, written by Immanuel Kant: youtube.com/watch?v=8bIys6Jo… or (more academic version): plato.stanford.edu/entries/k… nitter.catsarch.com/fox/status/10060916116…

A rich GitHub profile is like a college degree: ∙ It's a positive signal, one of dozens possible ∙ Not everybody has the time and resources to get one ∙ Having one does not necessarily mean you're good at your job ∙ Ignoring one would be silly ∙ Requiring one would be silly

Over the years I’ve started to prefer code that is boring but easy to understand. I cringe when I crack open some dependency source code and find some “smart” abstractions that makes it painful to understand what’s going on as an outsider.
