Yesterday, I had my first-ever talk as a speaker at a @meetjs meetup! 🎤🔥 I shared how easy it can be to start maintaining an open-source library - based on my own experience! Stepping out of my comfort zone wasn’t easy, but it was definitely worth it. And I already know… it won’t be my last time! 🚀

Za sprawą Andreja Karpathy'ego poznałem nowy styl programowania z AI o zacnej nazwi "vibe coding". To trochę jak jazda na autopilocie - przestajesz przejmować się kodem i po prostu płyniesz z prądem, pozwalając AI robić większość roboty. Jak to wygląda w praktyce? Podczas dzisiejszej pierwszej "poważnej" sesji vibe codingu postanowiłem dodać testy w Playwright i MSW - konkretnie testy UI dla page'y i pokrycie happy patha przez pełnoprawne e2e na naszej nowej platformie Przeprogramowani. Platforma pozwala naszym kursantom korzystać z dożywotniego dostępu do szkoleń (darmowy backup dla płatnej platformy Przeprogramowani Circle) 🧑🏻‍💻 Do pracy wykorzystałem najlepszy setup do vibe codingu jakim jest Cursor Agenta napędzany Claude 3.6 Sonnet i o3-mini-high (bez niespodzianek). Co się sprawdziło najlepiej: 1. Zacząłem od przekazania AI maksimum kontekstu - referencje do plików, dokumentację narzędzi i dokładny opis celów, które chcę osiągnąć (np. opis ścieżki użytkownika z referencjami do plików Astro/Svelte). 2. AI zadawało mi konkretne pytania (3-5) o każdy element planu 3. Przeszedłem przez 4 iteracje planowania, doprecyzowując wymagania 4. Po 30 minutach takiej "współpracy" z AI miałem gotowe zmiany w 23 plikach. I tu ciekawostka - przed sesją zainstalowałem tylko playwright/test i msw, cała reszta to efekt "vibe codingu" z AI. 100% kodu wygenerowane przez AI, a działa! PROFIT 😎 To trochę jak przejście z pisania muzyki na "komponowanie" w stylu współczesnych producentów - mniej skupiasz się na ręcznym pisaniu każdej nuty, a bardziej na wizji i kierowaniu całością. Czy to jeszcze programowanie? Tak, ale na wyższym poziomie abstrakcji. Zamiast walczyć z każdą linijką kodu, skupiasz się na architekturze i planowaniu, a AI pomaga w implementacji. Co myślicie o takim podejściu? Próbowaliście już podobnego flow w swoich projektach? Dajcie znać w komentarzach! PS. Przede mną jeszcze dużo testów, ale pierwsze efekty są na tyle obiecujące, że zastanawiam się nad szerszym wykorzystaniem... 🤔

There's a new kind of coding I call "vibe coding", where you fully give in to the vibes, embrace exponentials, and forget that the code even exists. It's possible because the LLMs (e.g. Cursor Composer w Sonnet) are getting too good. Also I just talk to Composer with SuperWhisper so I barely even touch the keyboard. I ask for the dumbest things like "decrease the padding on the sidebar by half" because I'm too lazy to find it. I "Accept All" always, I don't read the diffs anymore. When I get error messages I just copy paste them in with no comment, usually that fixes it. The code grows beyond my usual comprehension, I'd have to really read through it for a while. Sometimes the LLMs can't fix a bug so I just work around it or ask for random changes until it goes away. It's not too bad for throwaway weekend projects, but still quite amusing. I'm building a project or webapp, but it's not really coding - I just see stuff, say stuff, run stuff, and copy paste stuff, and it mostly works.
