Medusa 2.0 is the result of years of iteration on better ways for developers to build commerce applications fast, and I am so excited about it. Digital commerce is a broad category. Everything from DTC websites and large omnichannel businesses to food delivery apps and vertical SaaS platforms will need some degree of commerce logic (e.g., managing your SKUs, calculating totals, sending invoices, etc). E-commerce platforms have this logic, but usually not in the shape you need (e.g., the logic might only be part of an opinionated flow that doesn't work for your needs). This means building these applications is generally filled with hacky workarounds and complexity that is hard to wrap your head around. We had first-hand experience with this, and it sucked. Medusa provides core commerce logic and tools to orchestrate it in different ways. This allows you to easily change a return flow from creating a refund to generating a voucher, something that would otherwise have been a mess to accomplish if the platform you were using didn't support that feature natively. Medusa 2.0 is taking this idea further. All our commerce logic is now broken into independent modules. This allows easy replacement of modules and incremental adoption. For example, you can start using our promotions module without migrating all your product and order data and then adopt more modules over time or just integrate your existing tools. On top of that, we have a built-in framework for customization, meaning you can build custom data models, business logic, API endpoints, and more. Combining commerce modules with a server framework allows teams to build much faster than you can with other platforms, and the foundation keeps improving without you having to dedicate half of your engineering resources to maintaining internal tools. Our team has put so much care and effort into building something great, including a new redesign, and I can't wait to see the amazing things that will be built with 2.0.

Boom! 🚀 Took me a bit longer than expected to make this work with nested forms and validations, but finally made it work! The Promotion feature coming up in v2 by @medusajs allows you to build flexible rules for promotions. This has to translate into flexibility in the frontend for the user to create these rules. With some time spent in the react-form-hooks docs and zod, I was able to piece this baby together. Let me what you think! 🙃 Designed with ❤️ by @ludvigrask_
