Google shipped an experimental WebMCP feature for Chrome this morning, allowing websites to register tools for AI agents to use. This feels game-changing. Being able to programmatically instruct agents on how to interact with a site, rather than relying on browser automation or screenshotting makes for a much snappier and reliable experience. I built a small demo to get a feel for it. It showcases Gemini going through a full checkout flow using tools that interact with @medusajs APIs. I asked for a top, the agent did all the work, and asked me to confirm the order. We need to be designing browser experiences for AI agents more than for humans going forward.
