An open and authorable format that lets you seamlessly write JSX in your Markdown documents.

Feels pretty rad to be working on the landing page for the first ever #MDXConf. A bit more work to do yet, but it's getting close! Also, you can follow @mdx_js where we'll be making official conference announcements very soon!

TIL that @nuxt_js ignores non .vue files when building your application. I learned that you can use modules to load other extensions as components in Nuxt. I needed this to load @mdx_js files as routes under the pages folder. Here's an unpolished note. jbakebwa.dev/posts/unpolishe…

Did you know that you can use React hooks in @mdx_js files for examples and interactive elements? Here's a quick post that recreates the React hooks example component inside an MDX file for an interactive button: johno.com/react-hooks-in-mdx…

Doing a wiki-style “digital garden” structure using @gatsbyjs. More focus on process and collecting public notes around topics than publishing “finished work.” Honestly mostly doing it to build gratuitous, fancy-looking @mdx_js components.

I've got this weird idea where we could embed blog posts into the @mdx_js docs that come from the community but canonically link back. Seems like it could be valuable to the community to have more aggregated docs while still benefitting the original creator.

It's time for Episode 25! (really?!?!) This week, we talk to @resource11! The conversation ranges from design systems to @mdx_js to @gatsbyjs to documentation for the #JAMstack to costuming for cyclocross. It's a super fun conversation! thatsmyjamstack.com/posts/ka…

The same idea is on the @mdx_js homepage: "💻 Everything is a component: Import JSX components and render them directly in your MDX document." When I realized just what that means though it started shaping my opinion.

THIS is why I love @mdx_js. Yes, you can add a component inline in markdown (💰), but there’s more! Because MDX documents can be imported like React components, you can actually compose pieces of content inside interactive experiences and build UI around it (💰💰💰)!
