We see so many special use cases that custom registries solve. Hope someone will submit better docs to help people understand the power!
Turns out that Gulp doesn't have an easy way to intercept tasks by anything other than exact name (pattern matching? nope. Some weak wildcard system? No sir!). I'm going to put a plugin for this on my to-do list.

Dear all software projects (cough @gulpjs). If your authoritative documentation is hosted on GitHub, that's fine, but it is absolutely unacceptable for the master branch to NOT be the stable release version.
