Soo, this just happened. React 16.7 alpha is out! #react #reactconf2018
My crystal ball is telling me that the new Hooks API for #react is going to allow for a whole new type of optimizations. By declaring your sideeffects in a way that React knows about them better is going to unlock incredible things! #reactconf2018

15 minutes to go. Feels like an eternity.
Morning #ReactConf2018! Livestream starts in 1 hour with a keynote by @sophiebits and @dan_abramov on React's future. 😱 conf.reactjs.org/
Streaming server rendering with React is tricky if you want to send down a completed <head> before the rest of the content. This might be even more critical when we get Suspense-support on the server. I wrote down some thoughts here: github.com/staylor/react-hel…

Conferences should have dynamic schedules based on time zone so it’s easy to know when to tune in to live stream/reporting. The FOMO is great. #reactconf2018

First use of Suspense, for code splitting, is live in the latest version of React!
React 16.6 is hot off the presses! 😱 – React.memo (like PureComponent but for function components) – React.lazy (code splitting powered by Suspense) – .contextType in class components reactjs.org/blog/2018/10/23/…

Since going on parental leave, flow has been an elusive thing. Tonight I'm grateful I got to sneak away to find it, working on converting medium.com/@svti/react-suspe… to a talk.

The slides are actually starting to look like what I would have wanted the blog post to look like in the first place. They even have animations! Design is just soo hard for me..
As someone who always feel nervous before a talk, and am giving one next week, I really appreciated this thread!
Ok real talk: I give plenty of speeches and the nerves beforehand never fully go away for me. Never let anyone convince you that experiencing nerves means you shouldn’t be up there. You absolutely do! Here are some awesome benefits:
This is absolutely bonkers! 👏👏👏
I showed a sneak peak of Server Side Evaluation for CodeSandbox at @vue_london! We're going to release this Monday. This will add support for: - Next - Nuxt - Gatsby - Reason And really everything that runs on your computer 😄

This weekend I finally got the chance to give back to React, a framework that has given me so much over the past few years. I feel nervous and proud at the same time, but most of all I feel gratitude to the core team and the 1000+ contributors who have made it what it is today.

And if noscript-tags are horribly broken in the next version, well, at least I tried my best..
