It's dowright amazing how much you can fit into 100k min+gzipped if you start with a minimalist toolkit and you're conscious about size the whole time.

One of the things that has annoyed me with IE|Edge is its closed source nature. In this sense I am happy for this news: Microsoft is building a Chromium-powered web browser that will replace Edge on Windows 10 | Windows Central windowscentral.com/microsoft…

Github pull requests: I'd like a bot service that displays the dependency graph of the added files. For my use case it's specifically for JS modules but I could see this being useful for other languages as well. Something like pahen.github.io/madge/madge.…

They look nice, but please don’t use screenshots of code in your blog posts: – It’s not accessible (screen readers etc.). – You can’t copy-paste.

Working on the materials for my @FrontendMasters Design for Developers course this week! This is the first course I've created solely because people asked me to. The idea is teaching devs the rules of design so they can make their own side projects from start to finish! 🌟

I really, *really* like SoJ's "would not use again" question, which lets people who've abandoned a tech self-identify. This is noticeable in the graph above with Flow users -- 41% of people who've used Flow say they wouldn't use it again.

Please don’t study these things if your goal is to futureproof your career. Yes, they are all shifts in thinking (graphql takes us back to soap, for example, just with json this time instead of XML). But in tech there are CONSTANT shifts in thinking. These aren’t special.
You want to stay relevant as a software developer for the next 10 years? These are 3 major things you should focus on: - GraphQL. - Web Assembly. - Web Components. You will most likely end up using it so no better time to start learning it than today! 🔥
