Me presenting a poster at React Tokyo Festival! Talking about the new tool I’ve been making to bolster the React Native Desktop ecosystem. Hopefully more on this (and in English) at a conference in future!

We at Mozilla feel that WebAssembly has been a second-class citizen on the web for long enough. You shouldn't have to go through JS to do everything. This is probably a lot of what I will be focusing on for work in 2026! hacks.mozilla.org/2026/02/ma…

Despair as you go to test audio interrupts in your iOS recording code and find that the iOS Simulator does not include the Clock app

We've identified, responsibly disclosed, and confirmed 2 critical, 2 high, 2 medium, 1 low security vulnerabilities in Cloudflare's vibe-coded framework Vinext. We believe the security of the internet is the highest priority, especially in the age of AI. Vibe coding is a useful tool, especially when used responsibly. Our security research and framework teams are extending their help and expertise to Cloudflare in the interest of the public internet's security.

Wonder if this would have better DX than the iOS Simulator. Faster bootup, and a less containerised filesystem would be my wishlist for creating superior dev tooling. I’d like to be able to inspect the insides of apps downloaded from the App Store, too.
🗞️A fully working iOS 26 virtual iPhone now runs on Apple Silicon using PCC firmware — with public setup instructions. This could be a new path for security researchers without depending on Corellium🔥 onejailbreak.com/blog/ios-26…

Found the guy using LLMs with a training data cutoff before @jmeistrich’s Legend List existed
Flutter >> React Native. Since people love to debate, here’s why. The smoothness of this very complex infinite list just isn’t achievable in RN -- especially not on mid/entry-level Android devices. Performance isn’t close. Memory usage too.

The worrying thing is how a thorough test suite is even more valuable to LLMs building derivative works than perhaps it is to the project author themselves. From the article: Maybe SQLite was onto something?

I’ve been chatting with @jmeistrich and @buildwithdjdev this week and some of the things they’ve pulled off with long-running Codex jobs has astounded me. The presence of a thorough test suite is an absolute game changer for keeping LLMs on the rails and pointed towards success.

The more I speak with React Native and Flutter devs in Japan, the more I feel we’re like an endangered species. It’s all pure iOS and Android dev out here.
