I like the approach in @reakitjs They implement the Single Element Pattern (Singel), where each element is essentially as simple as a HTML element. Then you compose. These micro-patterns is what thrive in modern architectures. Building blocks if you will. reakit.io

That's pretty much what we're building with reakit.io. It's great to know that people are looking for it already. 😊
I mostly think we need a standard set of UI components that every app can start from rather than building everything from scratch with div soup. It should come with full accessibility and internationalization out of the box, and be completely themeable for any design.
