Lengthy RFCs for each distinct area? Twitter polls? Go with our own guts & dismiss critics?
& should we do a more public beta before opening the can of worms that is public opinion? Will people then be upset if there aren't migration guides between beta versions?
Sooo.... tRPC v10 is pretty ready! π
.... buuuut there are still some room for tweaks & there are some API design decisions which already have had heated debates on GitHub even if we haven't shouted about the alpha yet.
πββοΈ What is the best way to resolve those?
Zod is the validation library in the JS/TS ecosystem with undoubtedly the best DX. π₯
I use it everywhere:
- frontend forms
- backend request param parsing
- env var parsing
- validating shapes of third party APIs/webhooks
- validating json blobs in my db
They don't really need it for visibility since most example projects already use @prisma, but Prisma just joined in as a sponsor of tRPC! Thank you very much!! π
@trpcio + @prisma is a match made in geek heaven π

Write once, run everywhere is great for starting out with a small team. That doesn't make a rewrite later "admitting a mistake"
And incrementally rewriting bits in pieces in native code is one of the key benefits of React Native & friends
silly silly silly
