Doing research on how Tech companies have approached profit sharing. Here is how @buffer has structured it.
What other companies have publically shared their structure?
How our profit share works: 50% is based on tenure (to celebrate the compounding impact of long-term team members + align with being a sustainable co), 25% based on salary (to account for varying pressure and responsibility), 25% shared evenly (to show how this is a team effort).
We’ve been using Carthage at 1SE for a few years now and it’s so much better. Compiling dependencies from scratch whenever you do a clean build is bananas.
(Having few dependencies helps if you are using CocoaPods, but that’s a separate issue.)
Something to consider:
switching from regular @CocoaPods setup to binary frameworks means that clean build for Times (on my powerful machine) goes from 148s to 65s.
Incremental builds on the other hand are about 15% faster
This is my annual reminder that if you are attending WWDC start a list *now* of questions, comments, thanks, frustrations, conversation starters, and radar numbers. So that you can take full advantage of the Labs when you get there.
AWS IAM is the worst form of cloud lock-in that currently exists. It's a completely closed system that undergirds every aspect of dozens of AWS services. But is it really such a bad thing to be all-in on AWS? forrestbrazeal.com/2019/02/1…
This is spot on. Try to stick to URLSession.
A lot of people are cargo-culting best practices from 2011, or grasping for features they don’t use.

Interesting Swift Facts: "If you pass a property that has observers to a function as an in-out parameter, the willSet and didSet observers are always called. This is because of the copy-in copy-out memory model for in-out parameters." docs.swift.org/swift-book/La…
Every damn time. Xcode builds the project endlessly, or the designable view doesn’t load and you play the “re-open the xib until it works” game. Always cleaning and restarting Xcode.
IBInspectable is fine but I don’t recommend using IBDesignable with current tooling state.
Last year we hit a major milestone & became the #1 Paid app on the @AppStore for the 1st time & held it the 1st week of 2018 (After 5 years of steady year to year growth). This year we've made the app FREE for the 1st time... this is a whole new ball game... So far... (updating)
Not as much as it would have before the new app switching UI on the iPhone X. I’d still miss it for moving the cursor and selecting text though (space bar method is not as good).

So @LunaDisplayHQ is the real deal! Works pretty nicely with the iOS simulator and is great for Slack or a terminal or whatever else you'd normally put on a second display.
The sim felt so natural that I tried to pinch zoom without thinking about it!
