Wise words for TS enthousiasts!
I avoid ts-expect-error and ts-ignore in #typescript because:
1. You have no idea exactly what you are ignoring, you ignore all errors on the next line
2. It makes it impossible to see what your original expectations was.

ALT Example of the code trying to narrow the type of an unknown type parameter using the in operator. It's not possible today but it might become possible in the upcoming version of TypeScript.
