Mika was a one of a kind artist and performer. His presence on stage was magnetic. He brought so much love and passion to his art and cared deeply about his family, friends and Haiti. I’m so grateful for his friendship and kindness. Love you my brother and RIP 💔🕊️

Given Mikaben’s collaborations with some Soca artistes, which indicates a familiarity with Soca music, I’m mostly convinced he had to know of Destra Garcia or at least some of her music. Either way, he would’ve loved this tribute.

@mikaben gave his life to Haiti. He carried our flag on his back until his dying breath. At one point before singing you can see he was in deep pain and yet he persevered. It’s almost as if the same flag he was fighting for gave him strength to finish what he began. ✊🏿🇭🇹 #Mikaben
