Cleveland Clinic researchers find Ozempic-style drugs cut cancer spread by up to 50% across four major tumor types — the largest reduction seen in non-small cell lung cancer patients.
The study tracked over 12,000 cancer patients taking either GLP-1 medications or a different class of diabetes drugs. Those on GLP-1s progressed to stage 4 disease at dramatically lower rates for lung, breast, colorectal and liver cancers.
The findings will be presented at the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting next week in Chicago.

Further evidence that the delivery of Taurus KEPD-350 cruise missiles to Ukraine remains necessary, even in light of Ukraine’s outstanding domestic developments. Since March 2026, the AFU used Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG cruise missiles at least four times against high-value targets.

US-supplied ATACMS and French-supplied SCALP-EG were used to heavily damage and destroy a site near the Donetsk Airport which was used by Russia for the storage, preparation, and launch of Shaheds and similar UAVs.
10th of March 2026
British-supplied Storm Shadow were used to strike and severely damage the Kremniy El microelectronics factory in Bryansk. The factory specializes in discrete semiconductor devices and integrated microchips, which are critical parts of various Russian weapon systems like Iskander missiles.
13th of April 2026 to 14th of April 2026
French-supplied SCALP-EG and US-supplied GBU-39 were used to strike and damage OWA UAV storage facilities near the Donetsk Airport.
25th of May 2026
Today, British-supplied Storm Shadows were used to destroy an important enemy command-and-control and communications post in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region.
Each of these targets could also have been damaged or destroyed using Taurus KEPD-350. Indeed, the relevance of a delivery of 50 to 100 pieces from Bundeswehr stocks has declined in recent years.
However, as we can see, there are still plenty of operational scenarios in which the Taurus can and should be deployed. Since stocks of SCALP-EG and Storm Shadow are not infinite either, a delivery – as promised on several occasions by the German Chancellor – remains absolutely essential.
And yes, the German government has invested several hundred million euros in various Ukrainian weapons systems, thereby funding not only the production of those systems but also their further development. These include the An-196 Liutyi, which Ukraine has been successfully deploying for quite some time against targets deep within Russian territory.
It’s not as if we do nothing to make such attacks possible. We do a lot. But we could and must do more.

Al Gore’s dramatic climate warnings shaped a generation — but 20 years later, the data tell a very different story.
Climate-related deaths are down 97% over the past century, polar bears more than doubled since the 1960s, and global burned area has decreased by more than 25% over the past quarter century.
That's hardly a success of climate policy though: fossil fuels still provide 81% of world energy, emissions keep rising, and $16 trillion+ spent on green policies since Gore's movie came out hasn’t changed the trajectory.
A good reminder that panic is a terrible policy adviser.

The physics of what's happening in that 0.1 seconds of contact should bother you.
Those tires are completely stationary when they hit the ground. The plane is moving at 250 km/h. For the first fraction of a second, the rubber isn't rolling. It's skidding. Pure friction has to accelerate 22 wheels, each weighing 120 kg, from zero to 155 mph in roughly a tenth of a second.
The tread surface goes from -50°C at cruising altitude to over 200°C at the moment of contact. A 250-degree temperature swing in 0.1 seconds. The smoke you see at every commercial landing is rubber vaporizing off the tire surface. Studies at Manchester and Heathrow found that tire smoke at touchdown produces a greater magnitude of particulate emissions than the jet engines themselves.
The tires are inflated to 200 PSI, six times your car's tire pressure, and they're filled with nitrogen instead of air. Regular air contains moisture that would flash to steam and oxygen that could combust at those friction temperatures. Nitrogen eliminates both risks.
Each tire costs $5,500 and lasts about 250 landings before replacement. The A380 carries 22 of them. At max landing weight, those 22 contact patches are distributing 391 metric tons across roughly 15 square feet of rubber. That's 57,000 pounds per square foot.
The reason they don't pre-spin the wheels before landing, which would eliminate the skid and save millions in tire wear, is weight. Adding electric motors to 22 wheels increases fuel burn on every single flight. The math says it's cheaper to vaporize rubber 250 times and buy new tires than to carry the motors.

Of course kids are missing more school it was and is inevitable.
When you constantly infect kids with an immune damaging virus like Covid that can cause brain damage, cognitive impairment and has led to Long Covid being the number one chronic illness among children this was the only possible outcome.
Long Covid causes extreme fatigue, “brain fog”, and each Covid infection comes with a long list of additional damages to both physical and mental health that all hinder not only the students ability to attend school, but also their ability to preform while there.
In addition to the direct impacts that Covid has on the student’s mental and physical wellbeing, lack of consistency due to their missing school as well as their classmates missing school at a higher rate impacts learning and can lead to behaviours as well as difficulty coping with daily student life.
I don’t see the stats but I feel comfortable guessing that staff have been stricken ill more often since the pandemic began and this also leads to deterioration in not only the learning environment but also the performance of both staff and students alike.
Advocates and experts in the field of Covid research and education warned that unchecked spread of COVID would lead to increased burden on the wellness of students and staff and it has been painfully easy to observe.
This is the consequence of deciding COVID was mild with no evidence to back it up, and it will only get worse as more time goes on.
