As we prep for v23’s release later today, we’re happy to announce that you can now support OBS development via @Patreon and @opencollect. OBS is largely the work of volunteers, and we want to make sure the project is sustainable.

Unsure what @babeljs does?
It's exactly like a translating babelfish from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
But with ES5.
And not in space 👾
Yet another 'What the Fork?' for my new @eggheadio series illustrating all sorts of fantastic dev topics

Who sustains our open source infrastructure?
We're really glad to see this! Now @babeljs, @webpack, and @geteslint are all being funded through your support!
Thinking about a name for the Babel podcast! I kinda want "babbling" somewhere (though looks like there many podcasts with it). @sebmck did point out that it would make you have to use the correct pronunciation 😇
Babbling about JavaScript, Babel Babble.. suggestions? 🗣
Today @JSConfHi, I had to explain @babeljs to a nontechnical person. I went with:
1) Languages grow
2) Clients/Libraries dont upgrade at the same pace
3) This blocks adoption for langs like Python
4) Babel unblocks EVERYONE by translating new to old
5) Custom language works too!
Progress for pipeline operator in @babeljs is looking good. The smart flavor is merged and on track for the next release. And the F# flavor is already on the way.
TC39's official IRC channel is super active during meetings with over 30 delegates in the channel! Feel free to join us in #tc39 on freenode.irc.org if you'd like to talk JS, upcoming proposals, or just want to hang out!
New to IRC? freenode.net/kb/answer/chat.
Also planning to startup a Babel podcast soon (separate from my maintainer podcast). Hoping to chat with our core team, TC39, and other community members about history, process, language proposals, open source. Anything else?
